What is Viola hondoensis

Viola hondoensis or Aoi sumire, scientific name: Viola hondoensis, is a creeping, evergreen perennial herb native to Japan and belonging to the violet family, Violetaceae. It is a stemmed violet. It grows wild along roadsides and in light mountain forests in low mountains from Hokkaido to Kyushu. The entire grass is hairy and flowering is relatively early, and the rooting leaves are round. The petals are pale purple to almost white with wavy edges and the upper petals are recurved. The lip petals have a purple grouping, and the petals are thick and short. The tips of the flower columns are bent into a key shape.
