Plum blossoms, which begin blooming in January, are the pioneering flower that heralds the arrival of spring in a cold garden.
Originally from China, ume was introduced to Japan in the Manyo period (710-794) and has been loved by the Japanese ever since.


Types of Ume


There are many varieties of ume, but they can be divided into two types: "hana-ume" for flower viewing and "jitsu-ume" for fruit harvesting.

*Hana-ume
Hana-ume can be classified into three types: wild ume, scarlet ume, and Bungo ume.
 The flowering plum trees are classified into three groups: the wild plum tree, the scarlet plum tree, the red brush tree, and the blue stem tree.

*Fruits
Nanko, Shirokaga, Kogei Nanko, Koshiro, Tamabai, Yingishuku, Tsuki Sekai, Koshu Minoru, Bungo (Kane, Hanabai), etc. are available.
