What is White powderpuff

A Flower Like a White Makeup Puff: White Powderpuff

The White Powderpuff (Calliandra haematocephala 'Alba', 白花大紅合歓) is a white-flowered horticultural variety of the Red Powderpuff (Calliandra haematocephala, 大紅合歓), a tropical evergreen shrub from the Fabaceae family, native to Bolivia, which typically produces red flowers.

It is also known by other names such as Shirobana Oobeni Gougan (白花大紅合歓), Powderpuff, Powderpuff Tree, and Calliandra.

This shrub grows to a height of about 2 to 3 meters, with well-branched stems that spread widely.
Its leaves are evenly pinnate compound leaves, with elliptical leaflets about 1.5 cm long, arranged oppositely with entire margins.

From December to May, numerous white stamens emerge from each tubular flower, forming semi-spherical to spherical inflorescences with a diameter of 8 to 10 cm.
These clusters of stamens resemble a hemispherical makeup puff.

After flowering, the plant produces pod-like fruits that are 5 to 10 cm long. Initially green, they mature into a grayish-brown color.
