What is Camellia sasanqua 'Ageha-no-cho'
Camellia sasanqua 'Ageha-no-cho' (scientific name: Camellia sasanqua 'Ageha-no-cho') is a garden variety of sasanqua (scientific name: Camellia sasanqua), an evergreen broad-leaved medium shrub in the family Theaceae. It is a 'Group 1 sasanqua variety' sasanqua, one of a group of varieties close to the original sasanqua. The tree is erect and strong. The flowers are large-sized, single-petaled with many petals, and have a red blur on a white background.

The reason the camellia 'Ageha-no-cho' is named as such may be that its numerous flowers with white petals streaked with red resemble a swarm of Papilio xuthus butterflies, which also have similar white wings with streaks.
