is a garden variety of sasanqua (scientific name: Camellia sasanqua), an evergreen broad-leaved medium shrub in the family Theaceae. It is a 'Group 1 sasanqua variety' sasanqua, one of a group of varieties close to the original sasanqua. Single-petaled, dark red, medium flowered, flowering season November-December, blooms flat open and then reverses backward after flat opening, named after the birthplace of the cultivar (Mikuni Minatomachi, Fukui Prefecture) and the color of the petals (red).
