What is Hibiscus moscheutos

Titanbicus (scientific name: Hibiscus x Titanbicus) is a hybrid selection of America hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos) and Momiji hollyhock (Hibiscus coccineus). It is a cold- and heat-tolerant, perennial herb. Because of the lack of glossy petals and cool-looking leaves of American hollyhock, Akatsuka Botanical Garden created this plant by crossing American hollyhock with Momiji hollyhock, which has bright flower colors and palmate leaves, to suit Japanese tastes. It is available in a variety of plant heights: 50-60 cm (Kids Series), 80-100 cm (Short Type), and 200-250 cm (Tall Type). From the well-branched leaf axils, it produces one flower after another for one day, producing 200 flowers per branch. The cut flowers do not wilt and can be used as vase flowers or edible flowers.
Because of its birth, Titanicus is similar to its hybrid parent, the American Fagus. Here are some tips on how to tell them apart.
