What is Lindera glauca

Lindera glauca is a deciduous broad-leaved shrub of the family Lauraceae native to Japan, China, and the Korean Peninsula. It is distributed in Honshu (Miyagi Prefecture and westwards), Shikoku and Kyushu. It grows to a height of 2 to 7 meters.
Leaves and flowers open at the same time. It is believed to be a good-luck charm for students preparing for entrance exams because its leaves do not "fall off" in winter.
