What is Malvaviscus arboreus
Malvaviscus arboreus (Scientific name: Malvaviscus arboreus) is native to tropical America and is a non-cold-resistant evergreen shrub of the family Malvaceae. Because it resembles a hat worn by Turkish people, it is called Turk's cap or Turk's turban, Sleeeping Hibiscus,and Wax mallow, Ladies teardrop etc. Flower's main color is Scarlet red,and there are also peach color and orange color.
It is facing upward when it is a bud and turns downward when it blooms. How flowers bloom is similar to that of the same family Hibiscus where flowers are closed. It is a butterfly and hummingbird honey plants.
