Vitex cannabifolia (scientific name: Vitex cannabifolia) is a deciduous broad-leaved shrub of the genus Vitex in the family Lamiaceae, native to China. The tree is about 3 m tall. It produces 10-20 cm long conical inflorescences with pale blue-purple flowers of about 0.8 cm in diameter from July to August. The corolla is bilabiate with five lobes. The other flower that is similar to the V. cannabifolia is the V. agnus-castus. Both species have fist-shaped compound leaves, but the V. cannabifolia has three to five leaflets, while the V. agnus-castus has five to seven leaflets. The flowers of the V. cannabifoliaare similar to those of the Hamagou (Vitex rotundifolia), which is in the same genus.
