Vitex negundo, Chinese chaste tree or horseshoe vitex (scientific name: Vitex negundo) is a cold-resistant deciduous shrub in the family Lamiaceae, native to China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Africa. In summer, the panicles are extended from the branches and leaves, and many light violet (or white) florets are attached. The flower is a lip shape peculiar to Lamiaceae, and the lower lip is split into three with a large fragment at the center. The flower has a faint fragrance and is considered a fragrance. The fruit is spherical and ripens black and is considered medicinal.
