What is Achillea alpina

Achillea alpina or Chinese yarrow(scientific name: Achillea alpina) is a perennial, lodging plant of the genus Achillea, native to Japan, Korea and China. It grows wild in subalpine to alpine meadows in Hokkaido to Honshu. The stems are well branched. In summer and autumn, it produces head-like flowers in spreading inflorescences from the tops of stems and leaf axils. The leaves are green and thin with a jagged edge. The flowers are used as cut flowers or dried flowers. The heads are less than 1 cm long and have 5 to 7 tongue-shaped flowers. The flowers are larger (1-1.5 cm) than those of its cousin, Pteridophyta.
