The Camellia 'Black Magic' (Scientific name: Camellia 'Black Magic') is an evergreen medium to tall shrub of the Camellia genus in the Theaceae family and is one of the cultivated varieties of camellias.
It was bred in 1992 by Nuccio's Nurseries in the United States.
The tree grows to a height of 1 to 2 meters.
The leaves are large and elliptical in shape.
The flowering period is long, from December to April, and the petals are a rare black-red color with medium-sized (9 cm in diameter) peony-like/lion-head-shaped blooms and tubular stamens.
After blooming, spherical capsule fruits measuring 2 to 3.5 cm in diameter appear.
Its uses include potted plants, garden planting, hedges, cut flowers, flower beds, parks, and school trees.
