What is Camellia iwanebori
Camellia 'Iwane-shibori' (学名: Camellia japonica 'Iwane-shibori') is an Edo-era variety of camellia (Camellia japonica), belonging to the Theaceae family.
It features deep crimson petals with white variegation, semi-double to double blooms, and large flowers measuring 10–13 cm in diameter. The blooming period is from February to April. It has a tubular stamen structure and is a vibrant camellia, though it has no fragrance.
This is a classic cultivar that has existed since the Edo period. The tree has a spreading growth habit and is weak against transplantation.
