What is Cerasus pseudo-cerasus
Cerasus pseudo-cerasus ,Karamizakura (Cerasus pseudo-cerasus) is a species of cold-hardy deciduous shrub of the cherry family Rosaceae, native to China. The fruits of this variety are edible. The tree is 3 to 4 meters tall and stands on stumps, with aerial roots coming out from the lower part of the trunk and grayish-brown bark. The leaves are oblong-oval in shape with heavily serrated margins and alternate leaflets after flowering. In early spring, it produces 2 to 3 clusters of small, single, white to light red flowers (2 cm in diameter) with long stamens. The tree can be planted in gardens or potted for viewing. The fruits are edible as "cherries," but they are slightly acidic, so "Wild Cherry or Sweet Cherry(Prunus avium)" fruits are now distributed.
