Farfugium japonicum or commonly called as Tsuwabuki (scientific name: Farfugium japonicum) is native to Japan, and is a cold-resistant evergreen perennial of the family Asteraceae. It is strong against shade and salt damage, and in Japan it is blooming everywhere in the garden and park of Kyushu from Honshu. Leaves resemble Petasites japonicus or Fuki (scientific name: Petasites japonicus), leaves are glossy and there are also plaque varieties. From autumn to winter, flowers similar to wild yellow Chrysanthemum morifolium or Florist's daisym, scientific name:Chrysanthemum morifolium make bloom on long stems. It makes a fluff like dandelion after a flower. It is said that stems and roots are medicinal, and in folk remedies it is used for swelling and products, eczema, bruises, diarrhea and so on.
