What is Haemanthus albiflos

Haemanthus albiflos or wite Blood lily (scientific name: Haemanthus albiflos) is a semi-tolerant evergreen bulbous perennial herb native to South Africa in the genus Haemanthus in the family Amaryllidaceae. The leaves are thick, long, erect and semi-curved, similar to the leaves of tulips and hyacinths. In autumn, it produces long flowering threads with yellow anthers at the tip of a thick, short flower stalk. White flowers are common, but red-flowered varieties are also available.
