Mexican shrimp plan, or the Shrimp Plant (Justicia brandegeeana) is a tropical and semi-hardy evergreen shrub native to Mexico, belonging to the Acanthaceae family. It gets its name from its overlapping bracts that resemble small shrimp, which come in reddish-brown or yellowish-brown colors.

Small white flowers shaped like lips from between the bracts are real. Lower lip of the flower is purple group. Blooming flowers (bracts) long-term, evergreen, prized as pot plants and cut flowers.
