Fortune Osmanthus or Usugi mokusei(scientific name: Osmanthus fragrans var. thunbergii), native to southwestern China, is a non-chill tolerant, non-shade tolerant, evergreen broad-leaved small tree of the genus Osmanthus of the family Oleaceae. The trunk is rounded and the tree is about 8 meters tall. The bark is gray. The leaves are dark green, leathery, glossy, oblong-ovate, with serrated edges, and are arranged in opposite pairs.
