The plant grows to a height of 50-100 cm, with spines on its stems and leaves. From July to September, it produces white flowers about 2 cm in diameter. Between September and November, it bears fruit resembling small pumpkins, initially green and gradually turning orange.
These fruits are mainly used as decorations for Halloween, wreaths, and dried flowers. The bright red fruits are not edible but are popular for floral arrangements and decorative purposes.
