What is Thalictrum integrilobum

Thalictrum integrilobum , also known as Nagaba Karamatsu or Hosoba Karamatsu , (Long-leaved Meadow-rue, Scientific Name: Thalictrum integrilobum) , is a deciduous perennial wildflower in the Ranunculaceae family and the genus Thalictrum, endemic to Hokkaido, Japan. It grows in the forest floors along valleys and riverbanks in the Hidaka and Iburi regions of Hokkaido. The plant reaches a height of about 30-40 cm. The leaves are 3-4 times ternate compound leaves, with small leaflets that are elongated.

Thalictrum intermedium or Karamatsuso(scientific name:Thalictrum aquilegifolium var. intermedium) lacks sepals and does not have petals originally. From May to June, it extends corymbs from the tops of the stems, producing white stamens that appear as flowers.

Origin of the Name:
The Japanese name "Nagaba Karamatsu" comes from the fact that its leaves are more elongated compared to the commonThalictrum intermedium or Karamatsuso(scientific name:Thalictrum aquilegifolium var. intermedium) . The genus name "Thalictrum" is derived from the ancient name for the genus "thaliktron," and the species name "integrilobum" means "with shallowly lobed, entire margins."
