What is Viburnum snowball
Viburnum snowball (scientific name: Viburnum opulus 'Snowball') is a deciduous shrub of the family Caprifoliaceae, native to Europe and North Africa. It is also known as the Western Liver Tree. The tree is about 1.5 m tall and has a clumpy form. The leaves are soft and 3-lobed, and are attached in opposite pairs. The leaves are originally green, but turn red in autumn. It produces scattered clustered or conical inflorescences from its branches, and initially produces light green, ball-shaped flowers, which turn white over time. Anther color is yellow. The branches are thin, so the flowers droop downwards as they flower and become heavier. Red kernels appear in the fall. It is used as a garden tree and cut flower.
Snowball is similar to the Japanese snowball.
