What is Pelargonium
Pelargonium or Fancy Geranium , scientific name:Pelargonium grandiflorum , is native to South Africa and is a heat-resistant, non-drying, non-cold-resistant, evergreen perennial herb of the genus Pelalgonium. Among its horticultural varieties, there are Geranium (Geranium, scientific name: Pelargonium x hortorum) (geranium), and flowers are similar.
The varieties include the Aristo series and the Pelargonium Angeleyes Series. The Angel Eyes series is a compact, well-branched early-earning type small-flowered variety. The leaves are bright green, have a long flowering period, and have excellent cold resistance. There are viola, randy, bicolor, burgundy red and orange. The genus name "Pelargonium" is Latin in the sense of "pelargos" (Stork), and is attributed to the fact that the shape of the fruit is similar to that of the stork.
■ The difference between pelargonium and geranium
Geranium blooms in four seasons and blooms almost year round, and there is also a double-folded variety, while peralgonium blooms in one season and has many single blooms. If you want to enjoy flowers all year round, geranium may be better. However, pelargonium is larger in flower than geranium, and some flowers are bright.
