September red-colored flowers
September red-colored flowers
There are more than 100 species of red flowers that bloom in September. Flowers do not bloom freely, but bloom for a purpose (to fertilize and produce offspring), so color is an important factor as well as shape. Among wildflowers, the most common flower colors are white, yellow, purple, and red, in that order. It is said that the reason why white and yellow flowers are more common is because the flower color is easily visible to birds and insects. Especially in the case of flowers that bloom at night, the whiter the flower, the more visible it is, and those flowers have a strong aroma (including a putrid odor) that easily attracts vectors. In contrast, swallowtails seem to prefer red flowers, however, it is thought that it is humans who like red flowers the most, and many red-flowered garden varieties have been produced.
