Pink Flowers in July, Part 2
Pink flowers are gentle and adorable, so most people like them. However, based on experimental results and knowledge so far, bees, the primary visitors of flowers, can recognize only yellow, green, blue, and ultraviolet light, albeit vaguely. Therefore, they do not specifically gather on pink flowers.
What Do Bees Aim For When They Fly?
Bees' color perception organs can recognize ultraviolet light in addition to yellow, green, and blue. They fly towards "nectar guides," which absorb a lot of ultraviolet light and appear black to bees. These nectar guides are located at the center of the flower and serve as a sign to bees of where the nectar is.
Therefore, flower color is not particularly important to bees. The nectar guide is the most important, and leaves are green, so they can recognize them.
