The herb collection has been published in three separate parts, and this final version now totals 119 species as of August 22, 2024.

Herbs (HERB) derive from the Latin word "Herba," which in Japanese is known as "Kōsō" (fragrant herbs) or "Yakusō" (medicinal herbs). They are aromatic plants used for health, beauty, and daily life purposes.

Insects are inseparable from herbs. The Common Mormon butterfly (scientific name: Papilio polytes) is seen sipping nectar from a hibiscus.

Western Herbs:
Rosemary, Thyme, Basil, Oregano, Mint, Coriander (Cilantro), Sage, Watercress, Chamomile, Lavender, Italian Parsley, Chives, Arugula, Lemongrass, Fennel, Lemon Balm, Cherry Sage, Dill, Rhubarb, Celery, Wild Rocket, etc.

Japanese Herbs:
Shiso (Perilla), Ashitaba, Aloe, Tōki (Angelica), Dokudami (Houttuynia), Mitsuba (Japanese Parsley), Asatsuki (Japanese Chive), Yomogi (Mugwort), Sansho (Japanese Pepper), Ginger, Myoga (Japanese Ginger).
